I recently returned from Costume College, a weekend long seminar on all things costuming. There are several events at which costumes are worn, the most prominent one being the Saturday Night Gala, at which people people bring out their finest costumes efforts and walk the Red Carpet into the Gala space.
Every year there's a theme for the weekend. This year it's Dressing Royalty. The minute I heard that, I knew what I was going to make: an ensemble worthy of the Queen Of Margonia. It will be Elizabethan in style, while not actually cosplaying Queen Elizabeth.
I have already started work on one garment for the costume, and I expect that creating the full ensemble with take me the entire year. I plan to blog the entire process, so if you're interested, follow along!
