My Newest Adventure - PATREON!

Many of you already know me as the creator of Margo’s Patterns, a collection of patterns for historical garments of the 16th century. Over the last two decades, my work has become known as the best of its kind.

I’ve been obsessed with clothing and its history since I was a child. I sewed my first attempt at a historical costume when I was thirteen--50 years ago! I love my craft, and even more, I love sharing my knowledge. Now I’m venturing into a new realm/world/something: Patreon.

Patreon will allow me to bring you even more detailed information and instruction than you get with the pattern manuals. I’ll be able to focus on details, such as teaching a new technique and its application for garments. I’ll do a mix of large and small projects, so if you want to learn how to construct an entire garment, you can, but if you’re in the mood to make a small, quick piece like an accessory, that will be available as well.

You’ll have the chance to tell me what you want to see in the future, and even vote on which patterns you want me to produce. We’ll also have fun events like sew-alongs, Livestream Q&As, and an online tea party and fashion show!

Patreon will let us to get to know each other. I value my customers, and I love helping you, but I’m also just plain interested in you. I look forward to using the Livestream, comments, and other applications to build our community, to get to know you, and to hear about and see the beautiful work that I’m privileged to help you create.

As you may have noticed, over the last year there have been many changes at Margo’s Patterns. At the beginning of 2020, I made a commitment to take this business to the next level and start producing more products for you. I launched two new patterns in 2020, when previously I managed around one new pattern every two years. My plan is to produce at least three or four new patterns per year, starting in 2021.

In order to do this, I’m going to need more time, and the way to get time is to pay for it. With your generosity, I can pay for help running the business side of things, for graphic art, etc!  All of this will free me up to create more of the patterns you love.

Thank you for your continued support for the last 20 years!  You can find my new venture here:
